My thought on how the election will end is that I think Barbara Boxer will take the seat of senate. At least that’s who I would want as a my senator if I was living in California, I think this and would vote for her because I really like her beliefs and want she wants to do for California. After reading Boxer’s bio she won me over, just because she really talked and focused about what she wanted to do for the people and didn’t focus on herself and her accomplishments, whereas that’s all Florina talked about on her bio. That just showed me that Boxer is more about the people and their needs and wants, at least that’s how I took it and I feel like people will notice what I did.
Major Issues: Barbara's thoughts:
Civil rights- She has supported the Civil Liberties Act of 1987, 1990 and 1991, also the Civil Right Restoration Act of 1988. She supported Civil Rights Act of 2008, which was to strength the nation’s civil rights statutes, making it easier to show that an employer’s policies have had a discriminatory impact on minorities. The Legislation to prohibit law enforcement agencies, and the Hate Crimes Prevention Act is also something she supported.
